It’s famous for its large colourful buildings and lively atmosphere. It was founded in 1718, making it the oldest section of the city. The French Quarter is New Orleans’ historic heart. Some are traditional old buildings and churches, but there are plenty of other fascinating old sites too, like restaurants, cemeteries, and houses.
